Florida Public Broadcasting is involved with the leading educational initiatives in Florida. FPBS partners with Florida's Department of Education to operate Ready to Learn, the state's largest literacy program helping at-risk, low income children. FPBS also runs The Florida Knowledge Network, which provides training for teachers and educators and supplies video programming used in classroom curricula throughout the state.
Ready to Learn workshops in Florida markets provide grass roots support in helping young children to learn to read. Ready to Learn coordinators work with pre-K and Kindergarten students and in running educational workshops that free books and learning to students, parents and caregivers.
